LAB’s project for DCPL in collaboration with Perkins Eastman DC, PLLC comprises a public grove, entry plaza, seating areas, and reading garden. LAB also collaborated with GilbaneAMT Engineering, RESTL Designers, Setty & Associates, In Posse, and Shen Milsom Wilke, LLC.

Cleveland Park Library annually ranks in the top three heaviest trafficked and circulating libraries in the District. The original and modest 18,000 sf building no longer met the needs of the community. The heavy usage of the site and a desire for more significant meeting spaces for the community were primary drivers for the design. Working with the District of Columbia Public Library, the Perkins Eastman DC-led design team replaced the existing library with a new 28,850 sf building that has been designed to achieve LEED Gold certification, at minimum.
